First tour around the world in a solar powered car
54000 km, 38 countries, 18 months
Louis Palmer became the first man who ever drove a solar powered vehicle around the world, the so called solartaxi.
The expedition started on 4 July 2007 in Lucerne, Switzerland, and it took him 18 months to travel across Europe, the Middle East, the Arabic peninsula, India, Bali, New Zealand,Australia, the Far East, South Corea, Canada and the US until he made it back to Lucerne.
Along the way, he was joined by more than 1000 passengers, including ordinary people as well as princes, journalists, peace nobel prize winners and statespeople. The main purpose of the trip was to show that it was possible even to travel around the world on solar power, and to inspire the people worldwide. Through press articles, he managed to inspire more than 770 mio people on all continents.
During this trip, Louis Palmer visited many great solutions for a sustainable world, of which he is talking during his conferences.
