The world record for the largest postcard was set on Nov 16, 2018, on the Aletsch Glacier in Switzerland. More than 125’000 children from all over the world have produced a postcard with a climate commitment, and these postcards were laid out as a mosaic to form the world’s largest postcard with a powerful message.
The preparations to this climate campaign took more than 18 months, and finally the world record and media event was held one month ahead of COP 24 in Katowice, Poland. The campaign made headlines in more tan 49 countries and reached an estimated 90 mio. people.
The campaign was supported by SDC, the Swiss Agency of Cooperation, and the Climate Vulnerable Forum.
